Its all about the Exploitation...

Intelligence is probably the most overused buzzword of all time. Well, maybe not the most overused, but its definitely up there. And I definitely love the signals end of it, as the actual intelligence of it gets lost in the mix with the collection or cultivation. As I point out in my #1 bestseller, The Guerrilla's Guide to Signals Intelligence, you can collect all you want but it doesn't mean much without exploitation.

That can come in a lot of forms, ranging from making a target do something they might not ordinarily do to taking them off the battlefield permanently. That was the case for the pic above.  Signals intelligence collection did the heavy lifting on getting one very bad guy rolled up, as is the case quite often. 

An exploitation kit can be as straightforward as a transmitter set to interrupt the link being made between a target and secondary targets linked via communication. The trick is first identifying the operating frequency then having a radio more powerful than theirs. From there you pick and choose what happens next. Quite the far cry from simply sitting behind an SDR, eh? 

Anyway, its doesn't matter if you're wandering the Arghandab river valley or driving the local Walter Mittys up the wall. Have fun with being the author of chaos and as always, stay on target.
